I had the opportunity to go on safari in 2014. Along with two of my friends, we spent 5 days traveling with our guide in search of the Big 5. On the 5th day, we were headed back from our final safari when suddenly our guide stopped our truck. He slowly looked back at us to make sure we made not a peep, and pointed our attention to the bushes. This Lion Couple was tucked in the bush just a few feet to the right of our vehicle. This proud couple watched us as intently as we were watching them. They graciously allowed me to photograph their portrait, and for that I will be forever grateful. It was the last photo that I took on safari, and by far one of my favorites.
